LEARN TO READ AND DISCOVER THE WORLD. TELL A FRIEND

There are an estimated 18,000 people in Baldwin County who can not read or write. In our area of North Baldwin County as many as one in four of our neighbors may not read well enough to perform most daily tasks. They may not be able to read their mail, fill out a job application, write a note to their child's teacher, make a shopping list, use a phone book, read a newspaper or menu, or do many other activities.

Learning to read or improving reading skills will improve their lives and the lives of the people around them. It will improve self-esteem and confidence, increase job opportunities and help the person function more fully on a daily basis in our community.
